Jayme Xaya


Biography.

After composing his first song on the young age of 8 years old, his high school garage band became a huge success, also in Germany and Austria where Jayme performed his own songs on major music festivals. His parents (with Mom being a highly trained dancer, and Dad a guitarist in a band) finishing school was priority. Jayme took on the challenge to study at the prestige Conservatorium. Being too young to attend he composed a special song for the entry exam, convincing the board to let him be the youngest student ever to be accepted. Although his love for Jazz and Light Classical music is still a core passion, he soon decided to study at the Academy of Contemporary Music in London and landing a job as songwriter for Sony Music and Endemol entertainment. Credits include Dutch popular movie and TV series like Costa!, Bon Bini Beach, and Julia Tango. International credits include Buffy, Underworld, Zumba Fitness but also countless world-wide indie movie projects.


In 2004 Jayme got on a plane to New York City, after the Big Apple club scene producers B.Bros wanted to work with his spooky song Gonna Get Ye! for a Halloween show. The song got a live on it’s own, and the boys decided to team up as B2DANCE and release the track as first single on American indie label Indeyo. The same year their debut album Halloween Dance landed a number 1 spot on the popular iTunes USA store, Napster and Rhapsody alike. Other major Top 40 dance hits World-Wide followed in the likes of Everybody on the Dance Floor, Party Animals, Get on2the Dance Floor, and Dark Night to just name a few.


After reading a story in a magazine about the iTunes Store, late Steve Jobs and his personal passion for music, Jayme decided to reach out to Steve with a link to his music. Asking for a distribution contract on his popular becoming iTunes Music Store. To Jaymes surprise, a few days later the Head of Music of iTunes contacted Jayme and offered him as one of the very first European artists a distribution deal on the popular now Apple Music network. For Jayme an unique opportunity to have the creative freedom to release his own work, under his own control. Resulting in many exclusive songs currently featured on the world-wide  platform.


In 2008 Jayme released his solo single Julia (Tango.) The song became a huge success World-Wide and was on top of many Latin music charts. His passionate way of songwriting and performing results in timeless songs like Time for Change has Come also known as the Obama Song. After the by the inauguration of President Obama inspired song became not only a people choice favorite, but received high praise from officials like the American Consul General, Dutch Ambassador to the USA and Dutch Prime Minister for capturing the historic moment so inspiring in his composition. His in 2011 released debut album XI compiled beautiful new songs written and produced in 11 months time, and show-off that he owns more than one genre. From reggae to old school country, from latin to contemporary. The album also features the hit song Baby, Don’t Hurt Me. The catchy song is still leading his most popular top 5 on Apple Music. And there isn’t a Christmas playlist complete without his romantic Be Home This Christmas and uplifting When Santa is Singin Christmas songs.


Using his talent and voice for the good, Jayme recorded the for #RefugeesWelcome project song Bus Stop. The song tells about life of a refugee, and what it is like to have no place to call home. The song is asking awareness for the dire situations refugees face, and to bring the topic to the listeners through the power of music. In 2019 Jayme composed the climate action awareness song Hear the Call, to once more use his platform and talent to let music be a story teller for mother Earth call that times has found us. The by B2DANCE remixed version Dance for Climate Remix is becoming an anthem for climate activists around the Globe.
